Location guide for All 9 Horn’s of Blood Mead to get maximum Krato’s Spartan Rage In God of War with puzzle solution to unlock Nornir Chest (Legendary Rune Chest) and collect Legendary item to increase the Rage Meter to the maximum. Locked Rune Chest is located in The River Pass, Lake of Nine, Foothills, Alfheim and The Mountain.
Kratos has a rage meter in God of War, when it is full you can inflict high damage on the enemy, but it remains for a short period of time and refills back when you fight with enemies. In the beginning, the Rage Meter will be short, but through a collectible, you can increase it. Having a full Rage Meter can turn out battle amongst bosses in your favor, so getting it to max is very important. For increasing the maximum rage you will have to gather Horn’s of Blood Mead from a different location. There are total 9 Horn’s of Blood Mead in God of War, similar to Idunn Apple’s that work on Health Bar, Horn’s of Blood Mead will increase the Rage ability.
Horn’s of Blood Mead are locked inside a chest with seals on it, to unlock this you have to locate three symbols, after hitting them with the axe you have to return to the chest to get the Legendary item. All 9 Horn’s of Blood Mead Location & Rune Chests Seal Puzzle Solution
Horn’s of Blood Mead Location 1 – Riverpass (Midgard)
The first Horn’s of Blood Mead is located in a room with moving platforms with spikes. You will come across it while playing Path To The Mountain Chapter, you will be crossing through a cave and you will reach an area with spiked door and ceiling.
Riverpass Nornir Chest Puzzle Solution:
Once you are in a cave you will cross a broken wooden door and the chest will be in front of you. The above image has the location of all three symbols you have to attack. Only for the first one, you will have to hit the wooden platform first that will rotate and move the huge ceiling. Because it will lift you up, and you will spot the first sign. Turn around you will get the second in right corner, and for the last one just look through the broken door.
Horn’s of Blood Mead Location 2 -Veithurgard (Midgard)
The second Horn’s of Blood Mead is located in the south end of Veithurgard, this is a different region you can reach by climbing up on wooden logs, near the treasure chest after facing a miniboss in the Veithurgard castle. From the chest turn right and climb up. Take the chain and go down and go right, cross the wooden bridge and on the left, you will spot the chest.
Veithurgard Castle Nornir Chest Puzzle Solution:
For the first chain, as you come down from the chain to this Stonehenge area, just on the left side of the bridge go a bit ahead near the ropes, you will spot a sign.
For the next one, take the bridge go straight, jump over the gap and go down from left you will see a waterfall. Keep moving, in the end, you will reach a closed door and the sign is on the right wall.
For the final one, go right from the location you got the second one, look for the ledge on the top left side. Pass it and hit the sign on the other side.
Horn’s of Blood Mead Location 3 – Foothill (Riverpass)
You will get this one on Path to the Mountain Chapter. While moving towards the mountain objective you will meet Sindri. After meeting him, the Noir Chest is in the nearby rune on the left side and it is locked with a mechanism. You will see round wooden panels with sign symbol on them, instead of hitting the sign’s you will rotate panels to reveal all three signs to unlock the chest.
Riverpass Nornir Chest Puzzle Solution:
The chest is on the left and signs are nearby. The first one is on the left side of chest hit the round panel to reveal a sign ‘W’. Turn around and look on the left corner, there is a second mechanism, rotate it by hitting the round panels with the axe to reveal ‘P’ and walk a bit ahead and look on the left top. There is a poison torch, freeze it with axe and then call your axe and hit the round panel to reveal ‘B’.
Horn’s of Blood Mead Location 4 – Ringed Temple (Alfhiem)
The fourth one is located in Alhiem, you can get it after completing Light of Alfhiem when you are on an objective “Find another way to temple”. The chest and all the signs are on the left side of the door. Just go down.
Ringed Temple Nornir Chest Puzzle Solution:
After finishing your mission in the Ringed Temple you have to return to the main door, go left there is a door on the right locked by tree sap. Use the axe to open it, the first sign is near the stairs on the left, second is on the left top and third is above the chest.
Horn’s of Blood Mead Location 5 – Ringed Temple (Alfhiem)
This one is located in the same region, you will have to destroy the hive and claim the light objective, inside a room that is locked with a blue door. You will have to place the crystal on the pedestal in the middle of the room and it will activate a bridge above, this will lead you to the chest.
Ringed Temple Nornir Chest Puzzle Solution:
Go above and follow the bridge, you will see the chest. Two signs are near to each other, go on the right side of the chest and hit the one by one. Turn around and the final seal will be in front of you.
Horn’s of Blood Mead Location 6 – Fafnir’s Storeroom (Midgard)
The chest is located in Fafnir’s Storeroom you can locate it on the west of Lake of Nine, after passing Sindri’s shop you can spot the chest on the right side.
Fafnir’s Storeroom Nornir Chest Puzzle Solution:
Once you are near to the chest, look on the left, throw the axe between the branches as marked in the image above, the other two are on the right side.
Horn’s of Blood Mead Location 7- Inside Mountain (Midgard)
Once you enter the mountain, you will have to unlock a secret door by solving the riddle, you will reach a large cavern area with a waterfall inside. On the left, there will be some wooden blocks break them and hit the crystal to activate the bridge. This will lead you to the chest.
Inside Mountain Nornir Chest Puzzle Solution:
The three sigs are on different location for this chest. If you are standing near the chest then go out and cross the light bridge look on your left on the wall, hit multiple times to reveal ‘R’. Next go right and jump down just follow the zip line that is connected to the bridge. The next symbol will be on your left. Hit to reveal ‘N’, and the final one will be on the right top of the mountain. Hit it continuously to reveal ‘C’.
Horn’s of Blood Mead Location 8 – Witch Cave (Midgard)
This one is located in the witch cave, near the well that you will use later to travel to the Witch’s house. Look for a waterfall and two crystals that will activate the light bridge. There is a wooden bridge in the cave. You will find the chest where two light bridges meet.
Witch Cave Nornir Chest Puzzle Solution:
Inside the cave near the wooden bridge on the right, there is a cave, which has well that will lead you to the witch house. One sign is in the well. For the second one, look for another cave on the right once you are out, go in there and you will spot a huge red box type structure. Jump down and look on the left behind the waterfall. For the last one, cross the light bridge go straight and turn left, climb up and you will see the final symbol in the top corner.
Horn’s of Blood Mead Location 9 – Lookout Tower (Midgard)
This one is the final one, you will have to play up the story until the water recedes and monuments around appear up. Before this, a lot of things will be submerged in water. Once the water is down, swim below the bridge to the other side and on your right, you will reach small mountains with the icy rocks.
Lookout Tower Nornir Chest Puzzle Solution:
After docking your boat, climb up through the chain, and take the first left, you will reach a huge metal gate. To open use Blade of Chaos to trap Wind of Hel located in the cave on the right of the gate, and use it on the round ball on the right side of the gate. Enter, and you will spot the chest in front top. Now here you will be using the Wind of Hel to reveal the signs. Climb up from the left of the chest and take the chain once again to go further up. Walk left, and jump down in the left end you will see the Wind of Hel, you used to open the gate. Pull it out once again, jump on your front, walk ahead look on the right corner for a rune. Use the energy to activate and pull it on ‘P’.
Turn around and look on the left side a bit ahead, you will see a round ball you can release the energy. Go down near the chest, once again pull out the energy and look on the right end for a rune, use the energy to get ‘Z’. Once again release the energy on the ball just on top of the chest, and climb up from the chain on right. Pull out the energy and turn around, use the final rune on your front. You will need ‘R’ here.
