You may have noticed a new drop in Destiny 2 since the Vex Offensive began, the Vex Chassis Components. In this guide we tell you what they are for.
The Vex Offensive is here in Destiny 2. Vex are flooding out of the Black Garden, and attempting to invade the moon. Their arrival has also brought a new drop in the form of the Vex Chassis Components. From time to time, when you kill a Vex, you will notice this bright green drop appears from the wreckage. In this guide, we tell you what they are for in the game.
What Are Vex Chassis Components In Destiny 2?
The Vex Chassis Components tie into a new Weekly Challenge (formerly known as Milestones) for Ikora. You need to fill up a bar by collecting Vex Parts, in this case, the Vex Chassis Components. Doing so will net you some Tier 3 Powerful Gear, which you don’t want to scoff at right now.
The fastest way to gather up these components is to do Vex Invasion on the Moon, where dozens and dozen of Vex enemies will appear, and you can quickly farm them up. The alternative is to do runs of the Vex Offensive in the Black Garden. Once again, this involves a massive number of Vex enemies, so farming up the Vex Chassis Components you need should be very quick.
The Vex Offensive launched in line with the new Garden of Salvation Raid. Players were sent on a mission to find some Vex, and Vex Gate Lords, to kill. Doing so gave them access to the Vex Offensive, an attack by Guardians on the Black Garden to try and stem the flow of Vex coming from it.
As far as I know, this will be a slowly escalating event throughout the season. When new content and challenges hit, we will keep you up to date with them.
One last thing you should know about the Vex Chassis Components is that even after you finish the Weekly Challenge and get your gear, they will still drop from dead Vex enemies. I don’t know if this is a bug, or if another mechanic is going on in the background.
