The Fortnite Mega Drop is here, allowing you to save money when you purchase V-Bucks in the game. You can get up to 20 percent savings on V-Bucks and real-money offers for every purchase on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and on mobile when using select payment methods.
This is not a limited time offer, and instead a reworking by Epic of the costs of V-Bucks and items in the game.
How to get the savings on PC and Consoles
On PC and consoles, the new pricing is automatic. Starting today, any V-Bucks or real-money offers you purchase on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac are now discounted by up to 20 percent. You don’t need to do anything, the prices will automatically apply in your V-Bucks shop.
How to get the savings on mobile
Today, Epic is also introducing a new way to pay on iOS and Android in the form of Epic direct payment. When you choose to use Epic direct payments, you save up to 20 percent as Epic passes along payment processing savings to you.
This feature will be added to the game with an update available on August 13. Here’s how it works:
Currently, when using Apple and Google payment options, Apple and Google collect a 30 percent fee, and the up to 20 percent price drop does not apply. If Apple or Google lower their fees on payments in the future, Epic will pass along the savings to you.
Epic direct pay is supporting many countries and the list will grow over time, so if you are not covered by this new feature yet, it will hopefully be available to you in the future. Visit their list of supported countries and currencies page for iOS players and Android players using the Google Play Store.
Android users can also take advantage of the discounted V-Bucks and real-money offers through the Epic Games app at epicgames.com and the Samsung Galaxy Store.
What if I recently purchased V-Bucks?
Anyone that purchased V-Bucks or purchased a real-money offer like Summer Legends between July 14, 2020, and August 13, 2020, will be granted a V-Bucks bonus by August 17. The V-Bucks bonus will be 20 percent of the total purchase amount during that time frame.
