We’re on a boat and, it’s going fast and…
Yes, you read that correctly. Fortnite now has boats! No more having to look for a golf cart or running around on foot — you can hop on a boat.
But it helps to find a boat first, yeah? It’s a pretty big world with this Fortnite Chapter 2 map; coming across one can be a bit tricky if you don’t know where to look. Fortunately, we’ve got a few “hot spots” where you can find one and cruise the coastline with your teammates. Or, if you’re savvy enough, drive one on the mainland. Yes, you can do it.
Let’s take a look at some of the key locations where you can find yourself a boat.
Your Best Bet? Look Near Water
Since boats utilize water to get around, it helps to look around bodies of water to find your sweet ride. There are some locations you wouldn’t expect to find one.
For instance, the island that sits in the near center of the map, right next to Salty Springs. There are two different dock locations up top where you can get yourself a boat, along with one just to the southeast, right near the start of a small canal that leads to the Lazy Lake. If you want to do a little exploring, you can also find a boat to the southwest, just as you’re starting to enter the Weeping Woods. We’ve included a map below for reference, so you can get an idea around the center.
Now, if you’re on the Eastern side of the island, look around the Dirty Docks. There are three boats located around this area. One is to the north side, while the other two are a little further south, right when the ridge sets in. It may require a slight bit of looking around, but if you initially land in this area, it shouldn’t take too long to come across a boat.
Where Else?
The rest of the locations are scattered. You can find most of them in a clock-like fashion, around the upper edge and lower parts of the island. Again, it helps to look for small peninsulas on the island surrounded by water. These are the most likely locations to find a boat. For instance, go up top to the Craggy Cliffs, and you’ll find one there. There are also a couple just north of the Sweaty Sands if you don’t mind doing a little swimming.
If you’re on the south side of the map, just below the center that we talked about previously, there are a few more locations. There should be a boat right along the edge of the Slurpy Swamp, which can take you along that small trail into the water area by Misty Meadows. There are also a couple of additional watercraft here, on the left and right ends of this area. And if you’re even further south from the general Meadows area, you’ll find a couple of boats near the coastline.
In essence, there are over twenty locations where you can find a boat. Again, going near bodies of water is an excellent way to go, though you can find some elsewhere. For instance, if you go west of Retail Row, you’ll find a small creek with a boat waiting. The map locations are highlighted above, in case you get lost. Don’t forget to put “I’m On a Boat” on standby!
