You can now have a full arsenal of Netherite tools, armor, and weapons in Minecraft following the Nether Update. Netherite equipment is a grade above diamond making it highly durable, resistant to lava, and a great way to explore the new Nether world knowing you can take on any new foe. The first thing you need to do is to find the new Netherite ingots.

To create Netherite ingots, you need to locate a resource in the Nether called Ancient Debris. You can find it around levels 8 and 22 of the Nether, but you must use a Diamond or Netherite pickaxe to harvest the item into your inventory. Bring the mined Ancient Debris to a furnace to smelt it down into a Netherite scrap. Once you have four scraps, and four Gold Ingots, you can create a Netherite Ingot.

With the Netherite Ingot in your inventory, you now need a Smithing table to turn your diamond equipment into the upgraded Netherite items. The Smithing table requires two iron ingots and four planks of any variety of wood. Take those six materials to a crafting table to create your Smithing table. Now, place in your diamond equipment at the Smithing table and then the Netherite ingot to create the Netherite item. It will only work on a diamond version of an item.

Here are all of the tools you can turn into Netherite in Minecraft:
