Taken Butter is an ingredient you will need during the Dawning 2020 event in Destiny 2. It is required for some of the recipes you will have to make between now and January 5, so knowing where to get it is important.
Taken Butter will drop from Taken enemies anywhere in the game, but there are a couple of spots that are very worthwhile for farming.
The Hallowed Grove Lost Sector on the EDZ, near The Sludge, is a great option for most players. People who are new to the game will have access to it and can clear it pretty quickly. You should be able to pick up four or five Taken Butter on each run. The Lake of Shadows Strike on the EDZ is also a good option. It has Taken enemies all the way through and is a pretty quick clear, so won’t bog you down in a long Strike just to try and get this ingredient.
The overall best source for Taken Butter is limited to some of the stronger, veteran players in the game. You can go into the Shattered Throne dungeon and just stomp on Taken all day. If you are running a Sun Warrior Titan or Devour Warlock then you should be basically invincible and will be able to farm Taken to your heart’s content. Just make your way to the first Thrall room where you are normally unable to heal and laugh as endless weak enemies feed you Taken Butter and heals.
