Mindbender’s Ambition is an extremely nice shotgun in Destiny 2. It’s a favorite among players not just because of the innate states, but because it can also get some very nice perk combinations, adding greatly to its effectiveness.
To get your hands on the Mindbender’s Ambition, you will need to farm the Hallowed Lair Nightfall. This means you will not be able to farm it every week and will need to wait until the Hallowed Lair is in the Nightfall rotation to have a chance at getting it. For farming weapons like this, it is normally a good idea to just run through on the easiest difficulty, with no modifiers on your card, and finish the Nightfall as quickly as possible. Your score doesn’t impact the chances of getting the weapon; it has the same chance of dropping from the end of Nightfall chest, regardless of the circumstances. As such, speed is an important factor.

If you want to get the most from the weapon, be prepared to farm for lots of different rolls, and recognize good ones. Rifled Barrel or Full Choke will help to add some range to the weapon, then something like Light Mag or Accurized Rounds. For PvP, we would suggest trying for Slideshot and Quickdraw in the last two perk spots.
The Mindbender’s Ambition can be tough to get, but it is an amazing feeling weapon in a game that is all about gunplay, so it is worth it.
