In this Old Friends Walkthrough of Red Dead Redemption 2, you will engage into a gang fight with O’Driscolls. Old Friends is the fourth mission in Chapter 1 Colter. If you manage to capture O’Driscolls in Old Friends Walkthrough – you will earn a Gold Medal.

In the previous mission The Aftermath Genesis you unlocked hunting and learned about wild animals. In this Old Friends Walkthrough of Red Dead Redemption 2, you will engage into a gang fight with O’Driscolls. Old Friends is the fourth mission in Chapter 1 Colter. If you manage to capture O’Driscolls in Old Friends, you will earn a Gold Medal.

After returning to the camp you will have to meet Bill Williams who is in the room on the left as you leave Mr. Pearson’s shed. Inside you will see a conversation on a robbery. You have to follow the Dutch next.

In the cutscene you will see Dutch gives you a rifle, this is where you unlock the slot for keeping the second weapon. Follow Dutch till you see a smoke on a distance, after a short while you will have to leave your horse and look through the binoculars. Look the person in the tie he is Colm. You will see him hitting a person. Next Dutch will tell you to bring your rifle, this is where your slot for the second weapon unlocks.


Dutch will walk closer to the target, equip your weapon there will be an armed fight ahead. You have to target a lot of enemies here, if you want to earn a Gold Medal in this part of the game then you will need around 15 headshots. Dutch will give you two choices, you can take the lead or you can let the gang go first.


The fight will begin after you follow Dutch all the way towards the enemy’s camp. The best place to start your shooting if you pick to choose first is on the left of Dutch. You will see two enemies standing right in front of you below a shed. If you pick to send the gang then Dutch will the first one to shoot. Target the enemies two are on the top regions like high on the tower or near the water tanks. Stay in cover. Once you shoot the enemy your gang will progress and you can see other one coming out. Try to stay near cover as much as possible. It is not necessary to keep on aiming the enemies, just zoom out and then aim back. Auto-aim will help you to kill the targets.

If you are unable to spot enemies look the minimap, the red spots are the one you have to shoot. After killing loot all the bodies, but be cautious. Look for chest, explore the houses, etc. After a short while, more gang members will attack you and the fight will become once again. A kind of the second wave of battle, you will hear the gunshots so keep your Dead Eye ready, hit R3 to activate it and help your people. To earn the Gold Medal at this point you will need to target three O’Driscolls in the Dead Eye range and shoot them.


Once you kill all the enemies loot the bodies and properly check all the buildings. Dutch will tell you to search in the building on the left that is the place where you will find some explosives. This will trigger a cutscene, where the gang gets a map and dynamite. This concludes they were planning a train robbery. Follow Dutch once again, on your way he will tell you to capture O’Driscoll. If you do this in 45 seconds you will earn a Gold Medal. Open your weapon wheel and equip Lasso. Press L2 to aim and R2 to release it. Hold L2 to drag him to the camp.

Or you can dismount holding L2 and press Circle to tie him up and hit square place him on the horse. This is a less harsh way to take him to the camp. Hitch the horse and carry him towards your room. This will trigger a cutscene which is the end of this mission.

The next mission of Chapter 1 Colter is Who the Hell is Leviticus Cornwall which will only appear after completing two mission this one and The Aftermath of Genesis where you unlock hunting.
