There are lots of individual challenges to complete in the Theater Mechanicus that will reward you with Peace Talismans. These can be then be used in the Xiao Shop to purchase items over the course of the Lantern Rite event.

It will cost one Xiao Lantern to play a round of Theater Mechanicus. You can attempt the challenge in either Single Player or Co-Op Mode, but Co-Op only supports two people at once.

The Objective

During the game, you will need to destroy waves of enemies before they can reach a portal and escape. The game will display which enemies will make up a wave before it begins, giving you time to build suitable defenses based on the wave. For example, a wave with a lot of shields will need some Pyro Towers to deal with them effectively.

The aim is to slowly build up the correct Mechani to deal with the advancing enemies and stop as many of them as you can. Each wave has a target number of enemies, and if you allow more than that to escape, you will fail.

One the flour you will find circular plates where you can construct the different types of Mechani. You start with a set number of points, then earn more points for each enemy you kill. It is a good idea to slowly build up your defenses rather than commit too many points in between rounds. While the round is ongoing you can still construct defenses, so hold back some points as this will allow you to adapt.

Monsters will not attack you, and you cannot attack them, this fun game mode is all about defensive choices and placement.

When the challenge ends, you will receive a certain number of Veneficus Sigils as a reward based on the finalization rules of that Stage. Veneficus Sigils can be used to unlock and upgrade Mechanici. This can be done on the event page, by clicking left on the D-Pad to open the armory and selecting your upgrades.

This mode is all about trial and error, so don’t be afraid to experiment to see what works well. For more hints and tips on how to win rounds, be sure to read our detailed guide.
