Dr. Mario World datamined, 11 potential new characters leaked

Could more characters be coming to the new mobile game already?

The release of Dr. Mario World on iOS and Android took place today. Puzzle gamers and fans of Nintendo’s mobile offerings alike are getting their hands on the new game. The title dropped a day early, too. It’s a blend of classic Dr. Mario gameplay from the days of the NES and Gameboy with a mobile phone spin.

One of the features of the game is the ability to unlock more characters in the game that offer unique abilities to help you fight the various levels of viruses that are plaguing the good Dr. Mario and his levels. The current set of characters that you can unlock in the game, and how you can unlock them, can be found in our helpful guide.

However, if you were wondering about how much post-launch support you can expect for the game from Nintendo, data miners have already uncovered and seemingly leaked 11 new characters that could come to the game. It’s not clear what each of their new powers will be, but it appears that fan favorites in the Mario universe are making an appearance, including the Baby Variants of Mario, Luigi, Peach and Daisy (as well as regular Daisy), Donky and Diddy Kong, Rosalina & Luma, and everyone’s favourite Mario villains, Wario and Waluigi.

While data mining does not confirm the new content is coming to the game (some could be source code left in there from the original development, either as abandoned ideas or Easter Eggs for fans), it does show that more content is being considered for the game. As such, more of Dr. Mario World may not be far away.
