The fourth generation of Pokemon is finally arriving in Pokémon Go later this week, giving trainers an abundance of new creatures to find and capture in the overworld.
The update for the mobile game just went live, adding Pokemon from the fourth generation of titles into the game. Trainers will be able to find nearly 100 new Pokémon from the Sinnoh region, based on the pocket monsters from Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.
Not every Pokémon will be available from the start, however. As in previous generation releases, Pokemon will be added to the game in waves. This will give trainers a chance to find the first small pool of new Pokémon easier before even more creatures get added to the title. Trainers will also be able to find new Pokemon from hatching eggs, taking part in raid battles, and by new, unannounced ways in the future.

Niantic has also hinted at brand-new features and expansions coming to the game in the future, alongside additional Pokemon storage coming to everyone in a future update. Back when Hoenn Pokémon was added to the title, Niantic gave trainers 50 free Pokémon storage slots to help them catch ’em all, so it looks like Niantic are planning to do this once again sometime soon.
