Riolu, one of the Pokemon series most well known and favorite Pokémon, is reportedly appearing in 10km eggs in Pokémon Go.

The report follows the release of generation four Sinnoh Pokemon into Pokémon Go earlier today. The update added 20 new Pokemon into the game in the first of many waves. Some of the Pokemon included in the first wave were Chimchar, Piplup, and Turtwig, along with a host of other pocket monsters.

Riolu Available In 10 KM Egg In Pokemon Go

Pokémonsite Serebii was one of the first websites to report on the possibility of Riolu appearing in 10km eggs. Riolu cannot currently be found in the overworld of the mobile Pokemon game at this time. Since the report, a singular image (check tweet below) has appeared online of a person reportedly hatching a Riolu in the game, but no one from the community can currently agree if this picture is real or fake as no one else has been able to hatch one at this time.

If the report turns out to be true, then it could mean that other Pokémon from the Sinnoh region might only be available through eggs in the future. Niantic has made pre-evolution forms of pre-existing Pokémon, such as Pichu and Elekid, only available as an egg in the past. This could mean that Happiny and Budew could follow the same pattern and only be hatched in certain types of eggs.

All this information should be taken lightly, however. Niantic has not confirmed the existence of any Pokémon in Pokemon Go at this moment, so until more trainers start hatching Riolus in 10km eggs, we will have to wait and see if this is official.

Update: Riolu has been confirmed to appear in 10km Pokemon Eggs. Other trainers have been hatching the Pokémon as well.
