Pokémon Go will have a new event arriving in June related to the summer solstice for the northern hemisphere and the winter solstice for the southern hemisphere. The event is set to begin on June 19 at 8:00 and goes until June 24 at 10:00pm in your local timezone. We have extremely slim details about this event for Pokémon Go. Beyond the exact date and times of the event, there's little else we know. We can speculate due to previous solstice events that Fire and Ice-type Pokémon will likely be the major highlight of the event, due to them all being related to the respective solstice-based activities. You will likely have a higher chance of catching any of those Pokémon that are harder to find in your region. It will depend on your hemisphere, though. Those in the northern hemisphere can expect to find more Fire-types, and those in the southern hemisphere can expect to encounter more Ice-types. The solstice event will not be a paid one, so don't expect to have to offer any PokéCoins or real-world money to participate. Rare Pokémon from the Fire and Ice-type spawns are likely to show up more, such as Sneasel and Magmar. During the event, on July 23, Clefairy will be in the spotlight Pokémon happening from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in your local timezone, so for a limited time, you will probably see many of these spawning throughout your area. The announcement of the event was made on the Pokémon Go blog. It was announced at the same time as the upcoming Bug Out event, which takes place shortly after the summer solstice. The Bug Out event will go from June 26 to July 1 and will revolve around the many Bug-type Pokémon in the game. We'll be updating this page as we learn more details about what Pokémon are featured during this event, and what variety of bonuses all players can expect to receive for participating.
