  • Kojima new multiplatform "Fox Engine" screenshots

    The best segment of Kojima's pre-E3 video package was the one in which the firm discussed the Fox Engine, a new multiplatform technology upon which the he is developing their upcoming titles.

  • EA to announce new online service "Origin" today

    According to reports from Wall Street Journal EA is all set announce a new download service titled as "Origin", the first game on which this new service debut is "Star Wars: The Old Republic".

    Wall Street Journal compares this new service from EA to iTunes and also claims that users will be able to buy, download and play PC game titles NFS and Battlefield ala Steam.

    At launch of this service there will be a total of 150 titles and range of “Facebook-like social features” which will allow players to broadcast messages to online friends when they defeat online opponents or accomplish other gaming goals.

    Origin is the direct competitor to Steam, and EA boss  John Ricitiello calls this new service a "cornerstone" of company's effort inorder to shift business to distribution over the internet.

    David DeMartini, EA’s senior vice president of global online also confirmed that Origin will allow players to spread their game across multiple platforms. More details is expected a E3 2011.

  • Sony details "How to redeem games in Welcome Back Package"

    Sony (Germany) has announced a tentative timeframe by which Welcome Back Package will be available and PSN subscriber can start redeeming the free gifts which includes two free games.

    According to Sony(Germany), "The Welcome Back program will be activated within a few days"

    This means PSN subscriber have to wait a bit more to redeeming their free games. The firm also provided details as to how users will be able to redeem the game once they are made available:

    SCE’s James Thorpe said:

    Hi, when the welcome Back pack launches, there will be a thumbnail in the Welcome Back section and you just download this as you would any other product and then you will access to the Plus section of the Store, where all the content will be. Hope you enjoy it

  • PSN down again due to overload issue

    Playstation Network goes down again due to overload issue. Many PSN subscriber are reporting that they are receiving PSN "down for maintenance" notification when they try to login to the network.

    It has been reported that the issue is all related to overload of gamers that are trying to connect to PSN inorder to download content on PS Store. No official words from Sony yet.

  • Yu Suzuki developing fighting game for Kinect

    Yu Suzuki, the man behind classics game Virtua Fighter, Shenmue, After Burner and Out Run is currently working on a new fighting game title for Kinect.

    According to details revealed by Premium Agency, Yu Suzuki will join the company as an executive producer to advise and oversee various gaming projects.

    Yu Suzuki said, "I’ve been [interested in] the idea of integration of technology and entertainment faithfully as a game producer,"

    Warner Bros has released a new trailer for Batman: Arkham City, titled as "Catwoman Trailer". The trailer shows voluptuous Catwoman which will feature in the game to give company to Batman.
